This scheme provides support for development and upgradation/ re-modelling of existing laboratories, equipment/ tools, digital and computational facilities, fabrication labs etc. in the Physical Sciences and Engineering sector of UG/PG colleges and departments of Universities within the State. This will strengthen the performance of these departments/ institutes to achieve higher standard, attract, retain and develop quality HR and explore emerging technologies and promote innovation.

State-of-the-art 9-storey Kolkata Biotech Park (KBP) in Sector V, Salt Lake, functioning as a premier bio-incubation and startup hub with 11 operational biotech companies

56 dedicated biotechnology laboratories established across educational and research institutes statewide through BOOST scheme

173 post-graduate students trained under internships program through premier research institutes under the RISE program

Upcoming regional Biotech Park at Kalimpong to give emphasis on local resource potential is planned

Free Molecular Genetic Testing (GSU with NIBMG)

A total of 10,735 advanced genetic tests were carried out for 9,205 patients across 21 districts of West Bengal and six other states. These tests, valued at more than ₹10.3 crore, were provided free of cost with support of ₹4.33 crore in state funding.
